The White House, the President's office, or whatever the hell it's called, well, it just got attacked. Again. This time, however, it wasn't Eggman. Oh, no. It was far different from Eggman's usual tactics. It was so swift and subtle that the security had no time to prepare before they were overwhelmed or even sound the alarm. All communications to the outside world had been cut almost immediately, any security linked to the outside had been replaced by fake data, to prevent anyone from noticing that anything had gone wrong. It had been pre-planned, professionally and efficiently, to cut GUN completely out of the loop. The president and his staff has been secured, all possible escape routes shut down. And there would be no pesky heroes to thwart the plan. Lord Brevon marched into the President's office, a small force of his loyal troops with him. The rest were securing the groups, and brainwashing the security and staff - there were no casualties, this was meant to be subterfuge. He allowed himself a small amount of smugness, after all, things hadn't gone so well for him in so long. "Mr. President. I am Lord Arktivus Brevon. And I have an offer you can't refuse. Quite literally, in fact."

@president@ "AH!!" His sudden arrival startled the round president off his seat. Carefully peaking over his desk, "W-What do you want?"

"I'll put this quite simply - I want access to every part of your government and military, especially GUN, and complete control of them. You can keep your meager title as President, but you will answer to no-one but me. If you cooperate, I might be inclined to not outright glass your pathetic planet from orbit once I'm done here. Of course, to ensure your cooperation..." He snapped his fingers, and a floating drone-like machine entered the room. "My assistant will need to make some modifications to your brain. Whether the process goes smoothly or quite painfully is all up to you."

@president@ Summoning all the strength he could muster, he slowly stood up.
But before he did, he pressed a secret button under his desk which would send an SOS signal to Sonic's house.
"I'm afraid our charter says that we don't respond to threats, and neither do I!"

Brevon took a deep sigh. "They always have to make things difficult, don't they...? Pin him down." The president would quickly find himself being slammed against the desk face-first by the soldiers. @syntax@ The robot then approached, hovering over the President, prepared to start the brainwashing process. "Very well, Mr. President, if you insist. But by the time your 'heroes' get here, we will be gone, and you will deny that anything had gone wrong. Everyone here, from your daughter to your personal staff and security, will attest as such. In short, your defiance is ultimately meaningless." @syntax@ The robot then started what would a painful mind-alteration process.

"Nah, I'd say it's entirely warranted." And with a BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE, the robot, along with the various soldiers, would suddenly find themselves smashed against by some different force, which then landed on the desk. "But you couldn't have waited for another day? Kinda got a full agenda as is, bug-eyes."

@president@ "Soni..." he groaned, falling to the ground from the pain on his face.

Brevon stared at Sonic with a neutral expression, sizing him up briefly, before speaking. "Hmm. So you are Sonic the Hedgehog. I have heard much of your accomplishments. I was hoping to avoid you and the Sol Princess last time I was on this planet, but it seems this world has no end of strange creatures. So I decided I was going to have to deal with you eventually. I'll crush you, then the dragon girl." He pointed at him, "shoot to kill. Capture him if you can, but I will lose no sleep over it if you cannot." The soldiers, having recovered, promptly started shooting their weapons at the hedgehog.

And the bullets hit... nothing! "Man, you guys are easier than Eggman's bots! That's sad!" Sonic, having grabbed the unconscious president and rushed to a more secure place for him to put him down, had just appeared at the opposite end of the room, before he shot straight at the soldiers, curling into a ball and repeatedly bouncing between them to knock them flat on the ground. "C'mon, are you gonna waste time talking all day?"

Brevon stepped back, allowing his troops some room to basically spray the room with laser fire, in an attempt to basically prevent Sonic from having anywhere to actually move. Good grief... I might actually have to deal with him myself...

Oh, no such luck. You think lack of space and increased laser fire would be enough to best him? No, he just zipped up and down and all around to avoid the shots. He even stopped on top of the lord's head for a brief moment. "You know, I think you could hire stormtroopers as aiming consultants for these chumps." And back to dodging around it was, still knocking into the soldiers at high speed.

However, as ineffective as the barrage was, it was proving Brevon an opportunity. Sonic's every moment was being analyzed, from his speed to his attacks. Brevon placed a hand on his dagger, and waited for an opportunity, watching his movements carefully. The moment Sonic got close to him again... He suddenly drew the dagger, spraying green liquid from the blade, striking directly at Sonic's center of mass, with disturbing accuracy, and lightning-fast speed, at an exact moment when Sonic was in the air. Time to see if the hedgehog could redirect his momentum in midair.

"Oh...?" And in a split second... ...he actually didn't redirect the momentum; he increased it, shooting forward with such speed that he shot through a wall, letting the green liquid shoot at the wall, before Sonic returned and rested on the desk. Oh, and by this point every single solitary soldier had to be knocked out. There just could be no way they could withstand a solid three minutes of getting bounced. "So, what's your shtick again, bug-eyes? Conquering the world? That's so five years ago."

Brevon... Smirked? "Oh, you wound me, Hedgehog. To accuse me of thinking so small... Oh, no. I intend to conquer the universe." He suddenly pulled out a blaster with one hand, firing at Sonic, but simultaneously casting out mines to attach to the walls, ceiling and floor with the other, intent on restricting Sonic's movements.

And he quickly jumped up and... just dodged the blast. Seriously, the desk was big enough for him to move, he could read the trajectory of the blaster. "Oh, my bad. That's so ten years ago. Does all evil overlords have a thing for really worn-out plans? Why not try taking over a flea market? Would suit you a bit better, bug-eyes!"

Brevon's response? More mines. On every available surface. And more gunfire to force Sonic to move. "I've been conquering worlds long before you were born, Hedgehog. Countless so-called 'heroes' before you have either perished or joined me, willingly or otherwise. If I were in the mood for it, I would have glassed this planet until not even microbes could survive on it, but I have a vendetta with someone on this world, and I intend to make her die slowly and most painfully."

His response? Jump on Brevon, standing on his head, and yawn. "Yeah, you know, that's cool and all, except that's also twenty years ago in terms of originality." He tapped his foot against Brevon's head. "What, is this girl like the only one who can defeat you or whatever? Lame-o." And with a sudden kick against the tyrant's head, Sonic leapt towards the hallway whilst letting gravity take its hold on Brevon... along with the countless mines he had literally just sprayed on every available surface. Hindsight, incoming.

Brevon broke into a roll, facing towards Sonic... Wait, why aren't the mines exploding? "Did you honestly believe that I would trigger my own mines? The mines I designed myself? Your capabilities are most impressive, but your intelligence is most assuredly lacking." He darted forwards - he was no slouch in terms of speed, and with bloodlust in his eyes, he moved to strike at Sonic with his dagger rapidly, aggressively pursuing the hedgehog like a wolf hunting down a rabbit. "I underestimated your kind once before. I will not do so again."

And he just kept moving away from the dagger slashes, stepping up and down and just about all around whilst keeping ahead. As fast as Brevon might be? He was not, by any stretch of the imagination, known as the fastest thing alive. That title belonged to the hedgehog who was quite casually dodging the slashes of the dagger. "Yeah, I'm sorry, but do we know each other? As far as I know, you're a bug-eyed guy who showed up and tried knocking the president out. Props for trying, but the guy can knock himself out over a stray chili pepper."

"Once again... You're an idiot." Suddenly, he activated a system in his augmentations, which caused his body to surround itself with green energy, and he suddenly flew directly at Sonic, any collision being directly harmful, spreading his cape for additional coverage, his path leaving behind a dangerous energy trail. However, he didn't stop there, suddenly disappearing through a wall, coming back through another wall to perform another strike, before he disappeared through another wall, and then came up through the floor, before coming back down again to attack from the ceiling. With every single response, Brevon was getting closer to cracking the code of Sonic's speed. Sonic, as unpredictable as he was, had limits to his capabilities. Brevon simply needed enough time to collect enough data to be able to predict and counter everything Sonic could throw at him.
