Future City - Test Run Gone Wrong

[candescence]

"Ah, darn. Oh, well, it was worth a shot," she shrugged, handing over the bike.

[kelik]

He nodded. "I'm looking for someone too, a Blue Blur..." He looked serious.

[JC303]

"...hm...'blue blur'..." He hummed thoughtfully, turning over Carol's bike to look it over.

"...only guy I know with that nickname is that Sonic guy," he mentioned.

[candescence]

"Oh, I've heard of him! Sonic the Hedgehog! That super-speedster who fights that evil scientist... Um... Eggbutt?" Carol said. "Lilac will never admit it, but she's a bit of a fangirl. They say he can run at the speed of sound, and while she can run REALLY fast, she can't run that fast."

[kelik]

"Sonic..." He let the name weigh on his mind a bit, as he narrowed his eyes. "...what's this guy like?" He asked.

[JC303]

"Well, cat girl here described a good chunk," he said. "He's this blue hedgehog, known as the fastest thing alive, and well, pretty famous."

[candescence]

"Yep! He's a famous hero! Coolest dude in the Land of the Sky!"

[kelik]

"A famous...hero..." He repeated, and turned to the wall, deep in thought. 'And someone like that caused disaster to the world? But...how? It doesn't make any sense...' He frowned to himself, looking rather confused. 'But...he also kidnapped that woman before. So maybe he's strayed...?'

Another half-hour later...

"Okay, watch this."

He had the bike sitting back up after he finished working on it, and showed a button by the handle bars. Once he pressed the button, it jiggled.

The wheels turned on their sides and spun horizontally, and suddenly the bike was hovering off the ground.

"This thing can't really fly in the air, but it can clear gaps better; plus hover over water," he explained. "Then you just press the button again to return it back to normal."

[candescence]

"Eh, I can deal with no flying. This'll get me to places easier! Thanks!" She grinned.

[kelik]

And while they worked, Silver just sat, looking down at the floor, still thinking...he's been doing that so intensely. '...thinking like this isn't getting me anywhere...will everything really work perfectly if I kill Sonic...? If only it were that simple...if only Iblis...!' And the hedgehog shot up from his seat. "That's it!"

[candescence]

"... Wait, what?" Okay, now she's just confused.

[kelik]

"...have either of you heard of the name "Iblis"?" A cursed word to him to be sure, but what about to the people of this age?

[JC303]

"...uh, not me."

[candescence]

"Huh... Isn't that a word for 'demon' in another language?" Carol blinked.

[kelik]

"..." He took a nod. "I think...I might need to know the meaning of that word first, before I find Sonic..." He looked at Carol. "We can still look for your friend, though. But I think I need to gather more info."

[JC303]

"Well, I'm not much helpful for info, sorry," he said.

[candescence]

"Alright, I guess so, she could be anywhere, anyway," Carol chuckled, "I'm sure Lilac can handle herself fine."

[kelik]

He nodded and looked at the bull. "It's alright. But thanks for the time, thinking like this really helped." He smiled, feeling like it was an interesting step forward.

"Well, glad it was at least somewhat helpful," he said. "Oh yeah, and fixing up the bike is free of charge. Doesn't make sense to charge for services when I ain't even got my business up yet."
