Name:
King Arthur Pendragon
Nickname:
King Arthur, the Maimed King, the Once and Future King
Age:
Over thousands of years old
Gender:
Male?
Species:
Human
Affiliation:
Anti-Hero
Description:
Status:
Former King
Location:
The Island of Avalon
Abilities:
Arthur, long ago, was a master swordsman, able to defeat the greatest foes, including mighty beasts. Even now, his sword arm has not rusted, and his skills come back to him naturally. But his blade has taken on a dark taint, enabling dark powers, including dark energy balls, lightning, and energizing the blade with darkness. He also has a loyal horse who is essentially a familiar, able to be summoned and dismissed at will, even after having been slain. The king also has great strength, able to strike with incredible force. He is able to teleport short distances at will.
Weakness:
His bouts of insanity may hinder him. As well, his armor may slow him down, causing him to rely on his horse.
POW Move:
Using his sword, he is able to unleash an incredibly destructive beam of darkness. However, he is limited in its uses, as it drains considerable amounts of power.
Chaos Ability:
Though his power is more magical in origin, Arthur can use Chaos and Order to amplify his abilities, a mixture of both is optimal.
Personality:
Arthur was once a wise, if somewhat emotionless king, but he did what he believed was correct. Now... He has essentially turned his back on his old principles, believing himself to have been a failed ruler, but despite his new coldness and indifference towards others, he still retains his chivalry, and perhaps his frozen heart may yet still have embers of empathy...
History:
Long before the present state of the world, there was a great but forgotten kingdom ruled by a king who was beloved by all and did all he could to keep his kingdom protected and prosperous. But some believed that the king, who never showed emotion, and in fact essentially given up his humanity to become the perfect king, was not human, and some of his knights deserted him, and one even had an affair with his queen, which lead to a brutal civil war, and the end of the kingdom. The king himself, deprived of his sword's sheath that would have protected him from the mortal wound he gained in his final battle, was sent off to the island of Avalon, and encased entirely within a suit of armor to keep him alive while he healed over time. His legendary sword would pass down from ruler to ruler since then, changing names many times, no-one even realizing its origins, always surviving the kingdoms that fell around it, always finding itself to a new dynasty.
King Arthur, over thousands of years, was completely alone, if partly because Avalon was long hidden, ever static even if the world had become unrecognizable. Now, he is more of an ideal than a human being, a myth made real, sustained only by the legend that survived even when the world changed many times. And he was convinced that he ultimately had failed, that he should never had been king. And in his despair, his armor blackened, as did the new sword he was given along with it, becoming Excalibur Morgan, The Black Sword of Promised Victory, also known as DeathCalibur. And the isolation, despite his willpower, had adverse effects on his sanity.
And so, he waits, either for his release from his prison... Or the end of the world. Whichever comes first.
